Session 2: Key Concepts: First Words First
With nothing to fear, the next step is knowing where to start. Laying a strong exegetical foundation for your studies is absolutely imperative to discerning God’s message to His people. In this session, we’ll discover those “Aha!” moments that suddenly bring clarity to the Bible book you’re studying. How does Matthew’s Gospel account flow so that we clearly see the Messiah? Just how much does James draw from his big brother’s famous Sermon on the Mount? Why does Paul use verbs the way he does in 1 & 2 Thessalonians? Mark these things first and watch how it all comes together!
Session 3: Key Words: What’s in a Word?
Keywording is easy once you know what it is and what it accomplishes. But do it wrong and you risk misunderstanding what God is trying to tell you. Session 3 is the longest of the sessions as we get into the nuts and bolts of what it really means to “keyword,” and all the benefits that come with seeing what the original language is doing beneath our English translations. With practical examples that will forever change what you thought you knew about your favorite Bible passage, this session is sure to inspire you to make your marks more meaningful.
Session 4: Work on Your Words: Practice w/ Q & A
So what does all this keywording look like during my own study time? Let’s work through some passages together and find out! Mark your Bible as we go or use the handout provided. It’s time to go beyond the highlighter and start making your marks more meaningful!
